Founded in Hartford, Connecticut by John I. Taylor and Oscar Modeen, our tradition of family service spans four generations and two states.
Taylor and Modeen's Connecticut location began serving the greater West Hartford, Connecticut community in 1909.
The second generation, represented by Harold Taylor joined the Funeral Home in 1933. He was followed by 3rd generation William J. Taylor, President Emeritus in 1955.
In 1968 William relocated to Jupiter, Florida with his wife, Ann and their children. He opened a Taylor and Modeen in his new hometown and continued the management of the original Connecticut location. Today, the Connecticut operation is under the management of 4th generation funeral director, Andrew Taylor, LFD at our South Main Street location.
In 2008 Taylor and Modeen of Jupiter expanded it's operation to include the family owned and operated Oak Hammock Cremetory. And in 2010 installed Carol Taylor Block as company president and manager of it's Center Street location in Jupiter, Florida
It is our belief that Family Owned and Operated still has a place in caring for families in their time of need.
